I got into CrossFit because I wanted to look good (if you say this isn’t one of your reason s, you’re either lying, or ugly beyond repair haha) AND improve my overall athleticism. I was always decently athletic growing up, playing everything from basketball, soccer, tennis, and now exclusively competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and never before have I athletically peaked this way until after starting CrossFit. I have people ask me all the time what I’m doing all this training for, and my response is always “for life (followed by an expletive)!!” The physical benefits of CrossFit are hard to argue against, but even more important than that I feel is the mental transformation that occurs while on the pursuit of fitness. The act of trying something new, conquering something challenging and difficult, the setting and achieving of goals, all these habits carry over to your everyday life. As much fun as I have training CrossFit, I found my true passion in coaching and sharing that love and knowledge with others, and helping athletes of all ages achieve their goals. I consider it a privilege to be able to guide others and witness them not only get physically stronger and fitter, but also develop the mental fortitude that they may not have necessarily walked in our doors with. Because of CrossFit, I’ve found much success in competitive Jiu Jitsu, have become much less injury prone (an asset competing in a sport where injury is a big part of the game), and take great pride in my overall strength and conditioning. I look forward to having you train with us!

I would consider myself a “Jill of all trades”. Growing up I was pretty good at most things but never the best at anything. By the time I got to High School, I focused on Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Ballet, Guitar and Musical Theater. I was also on the Madison Varsity Field Hockey team. It was an extremely competitive team. Those girls were my sisters and for 4 years we ate, breathed and slept Field Hockey.
In college, I lost my focus on sports and spent the next few years on ellipticals and weight machines. For me the magic was gone. I lost that team spirit and motivation that fueled me growing up. I never thought I would ever get that feeling back until I was introduced to CrossFit.
It all started when my husband heard of this new BOX in 2012. We were both tired of the same gym routine and with a little convincing I gave in to attending the first trial class. It was love at first WOD. I finally found that competitive edge and that community I missed so much.
In early 2014 it was time to take it to the next level and I received my CrossFit Level 1 certification and that summer received my Crossfit Kids certification. With my background in education, a Masters in Early Childhood Education, I found a way to join my two loves of teaching and fitness. There is nothing like seeing children and adults alike grow and learn before your eyes. I am so lucky to do what I love every single day and help others at the same time.
